Aero Ae 03
The Aero Ae 03 is a twin‑engine light transport jet produced by the Czech manufacturer AERO Vodochody Aerospace. Development began in 2021 as a response to the growing demand for efficient regional aircraft that could replace aging turboprop fleets. The first prototype flew in April 2023 and after an intensive flight‑test campaign the type received its European CS‑23 certification in November 2025. The Ae 03 features a carbon‑fiber‑reinforced fuselage, a high‑aspect‑ratio wing with blended winglets, and two low‑emission turbofan engines each delivering 1 800 lbf of thrust. This configuration yields a maximum take‑off weight of 8 500 kg, a range of 2 200 km, a cruise speed of Mach 0.78, and the ability to operate from runways as short as 900 m. The cockpit is fully digital, incorporating a six‑screen glass panel, integrated flight‑management system, synthetic‑vision display and auto‑land capability, while the cabin can be rapidly reconfigured for nine passengers, med‑evac stretchers or cargo pallets. The Ae 03’s significance lies in its combination of low operating cost, reduced CO₂ emissions and versatile mission profile, positioning AERO Vodochody Aerospace as a competitive player in the short‑haul market and signalling a new era for European regional jet design.
