AMT-600 Guri

The AMT‑600 Guri, produced by Brazilian manufacturer Aeromot, is a two‑seat, high‑wing aircraft that emerged in the early 1990s as a modern evolution of the company’s earlier AMT‑100 sailplane lineage. Designed for flight training, sport recreation and light utility roles, the Guri first flew in 1993 and entered series production in 1995, quickly gaining certification from Brazil’s civil aviation authority and later from the European EASA. Its airframe combines an all‑metal tubular structure with composite skin panels, delivering a robust yet lightweight platform with a maximum take‑off weight of 1,200 kg. Powered by a 115 hp Lycoming O‑235 engine, the Guri reaches a cruising speed of 190 km/h and offers a range of roughly 800 km, while its fixed tricycle landing gear and generous cockpit visibility make it especially suitable for novice pilots. Aeromot marketed the aircraft internationally, and it has been adopted by flying schools in South America and Africa, where its low operating costs and straightforward maintenance have reinforced its reputation as an affordable trainer. The AMT‑600 Guri therefore represents a significant step in Brazil’s efforts to establish a domestic general‑aviation sector and to provide a cost‑effective alternative to imported trainers.
