Aeroprakt
A-27
The Aeroprakt A‑27 is a high‑wing, single‑engine light‑sport aircraft that emerged from the Ukrainian maker’s continuous effort to expand the utility‑oriented segment of general aviation. Development began in 2012 as a stretch of the successful A‑22 Vista, incorporating a more powerful Rotax 912 ULS powerplant and a reinforced composite fuselage. The prototype flew for the first time on 17 May 2014, and serial production started at the company’s Kharkiv facility in 2015. Designed for both recreational pilots and flight‑training schools, the A‑27 offers a spacious cabin for two occupants side‑by‑side, a maximum take‑off weight of 750 kg, and a cruise speed of 220 km/h with a range of 950 km. Key features include modern glass‑cockpit instrumentation, electrically operated flaps, and a fixed tricycle landing gear equipped with oversized tundra tires for operations from unprepared fields. Its low stall speed, forgiving handling characteristics, and relatively low operating costs have made the A‑27 popular in remote regions of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The aircraft is also used for aerial survey, wildlife monitoring, and light cargo transport, underscoring its versatility and cementing Aeroprakt’s reputation as a builder of practical, adaptable sport aircraft.
