King Air G90
The Beechcraft King Air G90 is a twin‑engine turboprop that entered production in the early 1990s as the latest evolution of the long‑standing King Air line. Developed from the King Air 200 series, the G90 incorporates a redesigned cabin, upgraded avionics and more powerful Pratt & Whitney PT6A‑135A engines delivering 850 shaft horsepower each. First delivered in 1993, the aircraft quickly gained a reputation for reliability, short‑field performance and operating economy, making it popular with corporate users, air‑medical services and government agencies worldwide. Its pressurised cabin can accommodate up to eight passengers or a combination of seats and medical equipment, while modern glass cockpit options such as Collins Pro Line 21 provide enhanced situational awareness and reduced pilot workload. The G90’s robust landing gear and high‑lift wing allow operations from gravel strips and remote airfields, extending its utility in rugged environments. Over two decades of service, more than 400 units have been built, and the model remains a cornerstone of Beechcraft’s product line, bridging the gap between light piston aircraft and larger jets. The King Air G90’s blend of performance, versatility and cost‑effectiveness continues to influence turboprop design and cement its status as an aviation workhorse.
