Daher TBM 900

The Daher TBM 900, introduced in 2017, is the latest iteration of the French‑made TBM family of single‑engine turboprop business aircraft. Originating from a 1988 collaboration between Socata and Mooney, the line evolved through the TBM 700, 720, 850 and 900 series, each generation incorporating more powerful engines, advanced avionics and higher cruise speeds. The 900 model is powered by a PT6A‑67D engine delivering 750 shp, enabling a maximum cruise of 330 kt (610 km/h) and a range of roughly 1 850 nm with four passengers. Its pressurised cabin, dimensions of 9.6 m length and 2.4 m width, offers standing headroom and modern cabin management controls. Key features include the Garmin G1000 NXi integrated flight deck, automatic flight‑control system with envelope protection, a fully digital autopilot, and optional safety upgrades such as a whole‑aircraft parachute and enhanced vision system. The TBM 900’s blend of jet‑like speed, turbine reliability and lower operating costs has reshaped the light‑business market, providing owners with a cost‑effective alternative to light jets while maintaining runway flexibility. Its continued popularity underscores its impact on modern aviation and its role in advancing single‑engine turboprop technology. Operators worldwide value its reliability, comfort, and performance, cementing the TBM 900 as a benchmark for future turboprop developments.
