Embraer E-Jet E2 family

The Embraer E‑Jet E2 family is the second generation of regional jets produced by Brazilian aerospace leader Embraer. Launched in 2013, the program expanded the successful E‑Jet line that began service in 2004, aiming to deliver greater range, lower fuel consumption and modern passenger comfort. The series comprises three models – the 70‑E2 (up to 74 seats), the 75‑E2 (up to 88 seats) and the 90‑E2 (up to 114 seats). All variants share a common high‑aspect‑ratio wing, fly‑by‑wire flight‑deck and Pratt & Whitney PW1000G geared turbofan engines, which together reduce fuel burn by roughly 15 % compared with the first‑generation aircraft. Advanced avionics provide enhanced situational awareness and enable single‑pilot operations on many routes. The E2’s wider cabin, larger windows and quieter interior improve passenger experience, while its longer range (up to 2,600 nautical miles for the 90‑E2) opens new city‑pair possibilities for airlines. Since entry into service in 2018, the E2 family has become a cornerstone for regional carriers worldwide, helping airlines replace older, less efficient jets and supporting the growth of short‑ and medium‑haul networks. Its continued sales record and frequent updates affirm the E2’s role as a benchmark for future regional jet development.
