ENICS Е-25

The ENICS Е-25, built by Russian aerospace firm ENIKS, entered service in 2018 as the company’s first all‑composite, single‑engine turboprop for regional transport and utility missions. Development began in 2013 when ENIKS aimed to replace aging Soviet‑era aircraft with a modern platform offering low operating costs and advanced avionics. The prototype first flew on 12 March 2017 from Tula, and after certification it received type approval from the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency later that year.

Key features include a lightweight carbon‑fiber airframe, a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A‑140A turboprop delivering 750 shp, and a six‑seat cabin with digital glass‑cockpit displays, fly‑by‑wire augmentation, and integrated satellite‑communication. Its short‑take‑off and landing capability permits operations from unpaved strips as short as 800 m, while the efficient engine provides a range of 1,800 km with full payload.

The Е-25’s significance lies in revitalizing regional air service in remote Russian and neighboring areas, giving airlines a cost‑effective alternative to legacy models. It also marks ENIKS’s shift toward modern materials and avionics, positioning the firm as a competitive player in the emerging light commuter market.
