ZLIN AERO

Zlín Z-XIII

The Zlín Z‑XIII is a modern two‑seat, low‑wing trainer and sport aircraft produced by the Czech company ZLIN AERO. Its development began in 2013 as a successor to the classic Z‑26 family, combining the proven airframe geometry of the Z‑26 with contemporary composite materials and a modern Rotax 912iS engine. First flight took place in May 2016 and series production started in 2018 at the Zlín factory, continuing the long tradition of ZLIN aircraft that dates back to the 1930s.

Key features include an all‑metal wing with carbon‑fiber skins, a glass‑cockpit equipped with a Garmin G3X Touch suite, and electrically actuated flaps and trim. The aircraft offers a maximum cruise speed of 210 km/h, a range of 1 200 km, and a fuel‑efficient 75 kW engine that meets current European emission standards. Its side‑by‑side seating, forgiving handling and low operating costs make it popular for flight schools, aero clubs and private owners.

In aviation, the Z‑XIII represents a bridge between historic Czech training aircraft and modern general‑aviation technology, reinforcing ZLIN AERO’s reputation for reliable, affordable platforms that support pilot training and recreational flying worldwide.
